Reconciliation
Reconcile your accounts with your bank statement to confirm that InfinitelyZero and your bank agree.
What reconciliation does
Reconciliation compares InfinitelyZero’s cleared balance for one account with the real cleared or statement balance reported by that financial institution. A zero difference confirms that the two records agree as of that date.
Cleared and pending transactions
Cleared transactions have appeared at the bank and count in the reconciliation balance. Pending transactions remain in the working balance but should not be marked cleared until they appear in the real account.
How to reconcile
- Open the account’s transaction view and choose Reconcile. Compare the cleared balance through the selected reconciliation date, rather than including later-dated activity.
- Enter the real account’s cleared balance and the date you are reconciling.
- Compare the listed transactions and mark only confirmed items cleared.
- Correct missing, duplicate, wrongly dated, or incorrectly valued transactions.
- Finish when the displayed difference is zero.
Finding a difference
Check amounts, dates, missing fees or interest, duplicated imports, and transactions entered in the wrong account. Review both sides of transfers: a missing or duplicated transfer leg can make one or both account balances look wrong.
After importing transactions, review the preview and imported rows before reconciling. Imports can overlap transactions entered manually or included in an earlier import.
Reconciliation adjustments
If you cannot identify a remaining difference, the reconciliation flow can create an adjustment transaction for that account. The adjustment records the difference so the cleared balance matches; it does not explain the original cause.
