Cash Flow and Planning Hub

Cash Flow and Planning Hub

Cash Flow looks ahead at paychecks, timeline, and account cash. Planning Hub is where you set up income, bills, credit cards, and plans.

Overview

Open Account Cash from the main navigation for the forward-looking account and paycheck workspace. Use Menu → Planning Hub to configure income and paychecks, bills, credit cards, and plans or goals. Older references to Planner or Cash Flow describe these areas. For the paycheck-window workflow, see the budget by paycheck guide.

Account Cash

A budget can be fully funded while the cash needed for a payment is sitting in the wrong account. Category Available answers “Is the money budgeted?” Account Cash answers “Is the cash expected to be in the account that needs it?”

For each eligible payment account, Current balance is today’s starting cash, Lowest projected balance is the low point across projected events, and Projected ending balance is the result at the end of the window. Account Ready and the other displayed statuses summarize that projection; projected events show the supported income and payment changes behind it.

What Cash Flow and Planning Hub do

The Budget workspace reserves current money for categories and records spending. Account Cash projects future balances and payment timing. Planning Hub supplies their setup data. A plan or forecast never automatically receives income, assigns money, or pays a bill.

These screens are especially useful for:

  • Seeing which bills each paycheck needs to cover.
  • Identifying categories that need funding before a due date.
  • Setting up recurring payment plans for categories.
  • Tracking progress toward savings goals.
  • Projecting how much cash you will have after upcoming expenses.

Cash Flow and Planning Hub sections

All / Overview

The current Account Cash workspace combines account balance projections, paycheck planning, and supporting cash context. Use Forecast period to choose Paycheck Window or 30 Days; the selected horizon controls the displayed forecast.

Money Timeline

Money Timeline estimates how eligible cash may change between today and your next paycheck, including known obligations and optional everyday-spending estimates. See the Money Timeline article.

Account Cash Planning

Account Cash asks whether the account expected to pay each upcoming bill will have enough cash at the right time. It follows deposits and payments through eligible accounts over the chosen Paycheck Window or 30 Days. Manage Accounts → In forecast controls the eligible account selection; its default differs between Whole Plan and Account Cash until you customize it.

Each account shows its current balance, upcoming projected or recorded activity, the balance after each event, its first unsafe date, and its lowest projected balance. A funded bill can still need attention here when its cash is currently held in a different account.

Paycheck account allocation

A projected paycheck can be assigned to one account or split across multiple accounts - for example, 85% to Checking and 15% to Savings. Before payday, the forecast uses that planned allocation. After the paycheck is received, the actual account deposits become authoritative, including the separate deposits of a grouped paycheck, so projected income is not duplicated.

Transfer guidance and incomplete forecasts

When one account is projected to run short, InfinitelyZero may suggest an amount to move from another planned cash account before the first unsafe date. This guidance is advisory; InfinitelyZero never moves money automatically, and the recommendation changes with the current forecast and configured accounts.

Account-level forecasting needs a payment account for upcoming obligations and a destination account or allocation for projected income. The Planner identifies missing or removed account settings instead of silently omitting those events. Transfer guidance is withheld while financially important account information is incomplete.

Expected Income

Expected Income shows what each upcoming paycheck must cover, what is already funded, and what still needs money. It is driven by your paycheck schedule and the due dates and funding plans on your categories. See the Expected Income article for full details.

Funding Suggestions

Funding Suggestions highlights categories that may need attention and distinguishes needs projected to be covered by an upcoming paycheck. It never assigns money without your action. See Funding Suggestions.

Payment Schedule

The Payment Schedule lists your upcoming bill due dates and their current coverage status. It gives you a calendar-style view of what is due and whether each bill is funded.

Bill Setup

Bill Setup is where you configure due dates, amounts, and frequencies for your bill categories. Setting up your bills here makes them visible in Expected Income, the Payment Schedule, and the Dashboard's Upcoming Payments widget. See Bills and Due Dates.

Credit Cards

Planning Hub’s Credit Cards section shows your linked credit card payment categories, their current Available balance, and how well-funded each card's upcoming payment is.

Plans and Goals

The Plans and Goals section lets you configure contribution plans, savings targets, and spending allowances for your categories. See Plans, Goals, and Spending Targets for details.

How the Planner uses your data

The Planner is a read-and-project tool — it reads your existing budget data and projects it forward. It uses:

Pay schedules
The frequency and dates of your paychecks, configured in Planning Hub → Income & Paychecks.
Account cash
Today’s balances in the eligible selected forecast accounts; defaults differ for Whole Plan and Account Cash.
Category Available
How much money is currently in each category, including any prior-month rollover.
Bills and due dates
Due day, frequency, and amount set on each bill category.
Planned spending
Any funding plans attached to categories, such as a monthly contribution or every-paycheck allowance.
Expected paychecks
The projected paycheck amounts you have configured, used to estimate coverage.
Note: The Planner shows projections — it does not automatically assign money or record transactions. All funding decisions remain yours.
